Matthew 20:1-16 (NKJV)
6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’
7 They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive.’
In the 11th hour, Jesus found some people ‘idle’. Idle is a word synonymous with unproductiveness, unfruitfulness, emptiness. Idleness can be physical, financial even emotional.
In this last hours of 2017, Someone may be considering their situation and it is describeable as idle – Jesus is concerned about you. He is calling you for a specific purpose which will attract a full portion of reward.
4 key points to hold on to as 2017 winds down ;
1. Jesus is concerned about your welfare
2. Jesus is able to do a full compensation plus arrears.
3. It is not over until Jesus finds you.
4. It’s never too late to do work for God.
Can our 2017 be described with the word ‘idle’? Perharps there is a task that God has asked us to do but we’ve been procrastinating – now is the time to act. Our last minute breakthrough could be linked to that singular act of obedience.
