Early this morning on my walk, I came across this colony of ants crossing my path like a well oiled machine, I hopped over them (careful not to disrupt them) minding my business until I heard them call my name, so I turned back and stopped.
I stopped and watched this highway of at least 1 gazillion (?) ants in a perfectly synchronised operation. Everyone of them seem to carry a tiny piece of something and moving briskly, none breaking the ranks. It was amazing.
I watched and understood what Proverbs 6:6-11 teaches us.
I saw order, I saw precision, I saw purpose, I saw structure, I saw unity, I saw obedience. They have a master plan and work this plan so they do not starve in the raining season. Each one carrying his tiny grain and marching forward.
What is your plan? what is your purpose? What are you doing to actualize that plan? Are you sleeping, slumbering expecting tomorrow to suddenly bring forth a harvest? or are you rising early to things done before the distractions of the world start? Are you taking purposeful little steps, no matter how small, always inching forward towards the goal?.
The ants said to me, stop staring and go set your own goals and work your own plan, take a step each day no matter how small – just do it!
Proverbs 6:6 Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest.
