Psalms 139: 7 – 10 (NKJV)
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
Key Phrase: The big picture? follow God
Is there anywhere God’s presence is restricted? Is there any situation God’s power is limited?
Even when we stray and follow the desire of our hearts, He watches protectively, waiting for us to reach the end of our rope and return to Him.
When God leads, there is a guaranteed outcome. It may not be apparent to us today, but in the bigger picture His plans are perfect and following diligently brings us to our expected end.
Ruth followed God and choose to go with Naomi, the future looked bleak but the emerging big picture was perfect.
David followed God to the war front, it appeared it was just the errand off the shepherd boy to drop provisions for his ‘more important’ older brothers, but the bigger picture was perfect.
The psalmist wrote in Psalm 23, “He leads me …………“, and so my prayer this week is – Father, lead us daily through still waters to calm our souls. Lord, grant us humble heart and enlarged faith to understand that like David, a leading to serve is also the pathway to greatness. Mostly Lord, I pray that when You lead, we will follow and when You speak, our flesh will not drown your voice. In Jesus name.
